If it is threaded in all you have to do is buy a petcock that will attach to the tank correctly. Or you could just put an inline on off valve. I like having a device to shut the fuel off. I have an 1100 spirit and can go 136 miles before i have to hit reserve. I get better mileage on the highway. It all boils down to trade offs and priorities.
