Beretta shoots softer, takes light target loads, is adjustable for cast as well as drop. Benelli is lighter, adjustable for drop only, recoils a bit more, is a little picky with target loads, easier to clean and maintain. Trigger pull is a little heavier on Benelli but not bad. Benelli in my experience is slightly less prone to mechanical trouble.

Ive had 2 Berettas now. An AL391 and an A400 xcel multitarget. both gun have given flawless performance on the trap range. I looked at both Beretta and Benelli and for the money i just felt like the Beretta had a bit more going for it the stock, the sights, and the overall feel of the gun.

Beretta is great quality, so is benelli but my xtrema is my second beretta my first was a urika 1 which has over 10k rounds through and they are all sporting clay shots. My xtrema will cycle everything and anything I feed it from 2 3/4 - 3 1/2 I've had it for 2 years now and I've put 2-4k rounds through it. Great gun.
