Contrary to popular belief, the USGI fiberglass stocks run towards to high end of weight, 37-41 oz or so. Remove the steel flapper from the buttplate assy. That will take off 5-6 oz or so. Whittle up a wood filler block to fill the hinge area where the flapper went. Those two changes could take off 1/2-3/4 pound.
