The quality and specs of these 2 guns is beyond the Mossberg 500 and a used Remington 870. The barrel on the Mossberg is parkerized while the receiver on the Supernova is encased inside polymer to guard against rust. Both never jam. I give the edge to the Benelli though, the capacity issue is fixed with an extension.

Something breaks you have to buy from the dealership. I rarely see anything for benelli cheap. The 590 you could make it do anything you want with the change of a barrel, and twist of a choke.

I picked a new Benelli SuperNova a nd really like it; the only negatives on the Nova are less capacity and no lug for the bayonet. I do like the Nova having an AR style stock as I like having a PG on my stock. I would like to add a light to one of these. When the Nova came out I bought one and sold my 835. I personally prefer the Nova for a few reasons. First, its lighter. Second, I feel it has a better action, and for me it is easier to cycle.
