Tldr, by level 20, after spending 7 actions total, he's dishing out 10d6 fire, 9d4 mental, 3d12 electric damage to adjacent enemies each round, save for half. The star domain and psychopomp spells are focus, so can use every fight.

Thaumaturge has a ton of great class feats too. I think this build works best in the rare campaign where you start at a fairly high level. You reduce the burden on ability scores and class feat tax substantially by either just picking up the Sentinel Dedication for a STR build, or using a DEX build and grabbing the Magus Dedicate + Raise a Tome.

As for archetypes, there were two that looked immediately promising to be. The first is the Medic archetype, which will bring your Medicine skill to Expert so you can take Continual Healing at level 3. This allows you to heal often and for basically free. The required Battle Medicine is good for emergencies as well.Give the whole group an extra movement action. 3. Haste. Get a free action for striding, so the rest can be spent on Vulnerabilities and Magic Flinging. The class is balanced around 1h weapons. Implement's empowerment basically gives you 2h weapon damage with a 1h weapon. The action economy nightmare is just part of it...you outright lose damage by going this route. If you want a 2h weapon, don't be a thaumaturge. Otherwise, find something that's 1h that fits your theme.

The goal of Paired Shots being improved DPR, there's no reason not to find a way to get Unconventional Weaponry and a RHC build. Especially so because part of the air repeater power budget goes toward the agile trait, which has little place in a Paired Shots build. Glass cannon but fun. Summoner and magus are gishes (caster/martial hybrids). Thaumaturge is a striker who specializes in recall knowledge, with some added versatility in the form of talismans/scrolls. Swashbuckler is a striker who uses skill checks to debuff enemies.
