NTA and op wasn't being hasty. The daughter thought she would get a 4 bed room and 3 bath. And op make 2/3 of the mortgage payment and down payment. Daughter wanted op to buy her a house. OP is NTA for not opening up her own room to the cousin, but might be the AH for not offering to help make the guest room more comfy for the cousin. Sounds like cousin is NTA for wanting to stay with family as is the family custom. But may be the AH for demanding that OP give up her own needed things for OP's own child.
