I usually just craft the wintertusk gear and do waterworks 1-2 times for the XP and I usually get at least the hat or robe, but I think it's worth it to get the full set or 2/3 with professors boots. I’ve had decent luck with zigzag, and I preferred it on my fire and storm. Boots are either ww/prof hoard pack.

WW gear does not carry the block that is required in Avalon. You might be able to make that up with a wand, crafted ring and athame, but I think you will need to craft the block boots to be safe. Waterworks is a 100% essential to have, the struggle is very much worth it. The playstyles you can come up with. You can wear the full set or pieces from other gear you still get good stats.
